Neglectful Gregg! Bad!

It is a shame that I cannot seem to keep up with this blog!  Blerg!  So I will update...now!

This week is crazy busy.  Tests, tests, and more tests!!  I've got a test in my Horticultural Science class tomorrow, and I am ready.  Then Friday I have an Econ test which will be good...this stuff we're talking about makes sense.

In other news, I've been catching up on my TV watching.  Heroes is getting intense, How I Met Your Mother is awesome as always, and now I just wait for The Office.  Yes, 'tis a good week.  However, I cannot wait for 30 Rock to come back!  October 30!!

K-State finally fixed our hall door into the stairwell by my room.  The closer broke and so it would slam the door ridiculously hard.  It was very annoying, and made me jump a lot!  Haha.  But we got a new door today with a new closer.  It closes oh so quietly and is a nice change.  Sounds lame to be talking about that, but seriously, if you heard the door before, you'd want a new one too.

It's been chilly and rainy these past few days.  It's nice curl up weather, but when you have to study, or go to classes, you can't do that.  'Tis a shame.

Well, beyond that, not much else to write about.  I leave you with a quote from the great Barney Stenson: "Legen - wait for it - DARY!"  Goodnight!

Only a few more days...

This week has been good so far!  We finally get a break this week.  Going home!  :)

I had a couple tests, and they went well.  I had a lab test for my horticulture class, which I was kind of nervous about, but it turned out really well.  We had a list of 10 plants that we had to memorize their common and scientific names, and be able to identify them by what they looked like and their characteristics.  I am glad it is over though!

Other than that, I'm just ready to go home for a few days and relax!  I'm also waiting to meet more people!  I think that will make this whole K-State thing seem worthwhile.  Also, I want to know if I should even be looking at FarmHouse.  I have yet to hear back on my initial contact about possibly joining.  Grrr.  Oh well, I'm sure it will work out either way.

Well, that is about all.  Watched Bones tonight.  As usual...it was AWESOME.  :)

Goodnight from Manhattan.  Kansas.

An Update from Manhattan

Hello All.

I've started to get more into the groove of KSU and Manhattan.  It's been quite an adjustment to get to here!  I'm really liking my classes, and am really liking the Landscape Design classes even more.  Lots has happened since I last updated!  I'll try to sum it up.

Last weekend I went with my friend Anne to a date night for her sorority.  I had a blast.  We had Mexican, then went to the party.  We were "fashionably late", yet were the first ones.  Most people didn't start showing up until around 8:30ish!  The party was set to start at 8pm!  It was kind of funny.  Anyways, after that a group of us went to a coffeeshop in Aggieville and I had a Milky Way Mocha...twas great.  Then a group of us went back to the sorority house and we watch a movie.  Was a great weekend.

This week was the first round of most of my tests.  They weren't too bad at all.  This week in studio we're working on lettering, and that's pretty self explanatory.  It's not too bad, except that I am also taking Engineering Graphics which uses a different type of lettering.  I think I've discovered I don't want to go into Engineering.  If I could be involved in Civil Engineering, or projects related to it, in some other way, I would be extremely excited for that.  I'm really enthusiastic about Landscape Design though, and am really liking the class.

This week Horticulture Club had a Mum Sale, which turned out really well I think.  There were a lot of Mums to sell, and I think we sold most of them!  Also, this weekend was family weekend which was fun.  My parentals came up yesterday and we went to breakfast at a little diner here in Manhattan.  It was really good.  We then walked around campus and I showed them where I have classes and whatnot.  Got some T-Shirts (including my first purple t-shirt for games).  Yes...it was difficult, but I think I can deal with wearing purple on game days.  :)  I went to the football game and had a lot of fun!  Dinner was excellent with my family and Anne's family.

All-in-all...great weekend.  Well, I hope I haven't bored anyone to death!  :)  Updates (hopefully more frequent, so these posts don't have to be as long) to come later.

Beginning College (Again)

I believe I've already done this before.  Moving in to a new dorm at a college, trying to meet a good group of friends, and making sure you're getting to classes on time.  This year, I repeated this common practice done by thousands of new college students every year.

As many of you know, I went to Wartburg College last year.  Well, it seemed to not fit me.  It was quite an adjustment to go from big city Kansas City, to small town rural Iowa.  Yes, and mind you, the winters just made me wonder "what am I doing here?"  This year began a new era for my college career.  I transferred to K-State.  Yes, K-State, ladies and gentlemen.  After growing up KU all the way, I never thought I would see the day that I would attend a rival school of KU.  But this day did come, and boy, and I overwhelmed!  Going from a college of 1800, to a college of 20000+!  Woah man.  It's crazy.  But I'm giving it my best shot because, well, I wanted change after last year, and I certainly got it!  We'll see how this first semester goes, and I hope it turns out well!  Overall I like my classes, some more than others.

I've ventured into Landscape Design here, and am really enjoying it.  Right now we're working on how to lay out a lot plan for a client.  We've started reproducing a sample on paper and scaling.  Yeah, it's been challenging at first, but I think I'm getting the hang of it.

Of all the things that are different, one or two stick out.  I really like being closer to KC (only 1.5 hours now, from 6 hours at Wartburg).  Also, being in a bigger city has its advantages.  And finally, no more brutal N. Iowa winters...although I have to say, it really made me appreciate Kansas "winters".

Well, I believe that is all for me now.  More later...if I remember that I still have this blog!  :D

17 December 2006

So, it's been about a month since I've last updated my blog. Lots has happened. The Thespian Trip to Chicago was amazing (as was expected)! Here are some pics:
Well, i'll put up pics once Blogger stops being stupid.

I realized today that I haven't been doing very many social things...it made me sad. This week are semester exams. They're always barrels of fun (or lack thereof). Luckily it'll all be over on Thursday and I can relax.

Fun Weekend.

A good time in politics. I can't believe that the KCMO Light Rail plan actually passed. Haha. I'm glad the JOCO Soccer Park didn't pass...167th and Antioch is ridculously far away.

Next weekend is the THESPIAN TRIP TO CHICAGO! I'm very excited.

Fun Last Weekend In October

This weekend has been lots of fun. Friday went to Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska to visit. It was nice, and it was fun going with my dad. Then, Friday night included some fun stuff. The play was very enjoyable, and then TCBY afterwards with some XC people was fun too. The sleepover was really fun. Saturday was very busy. XC Districts went extremely well! The boys got 2nd place, and the girls got 1st. This means that out whole varsity team is going to state in Jeff City! :) Now, I need to figure out how I can get there... After districts included New York Deli (very, very good), then downtown for some urban excursion. Hanging out at Ryan's was fun. Making the BRAVOS teaser was awesome...I enjoyed myself thoroughly, and I think our whole group did as well. Now, finally to today...today was filled with earning money working in my neighbors yard...that was a lot of work. Now I'm going to do homework...oh joy. Well, that is about it.
