Why is the KS Legislature delaying its decision on this? This would be a wonderful Public Transportation Plan, that would hopefully lessen the dependence on cars, as well as hopefully LESSENING THIS STUPID KS/MO DIVIDE THAT THE KANSAS CITY METRO ISN'T HELPING WITH!!!! (I'm not adament about ending the divide...no, not at all!) Haha.

Yea, at least missouri is going to let a vote go through, hopefully kansas will follow suit when its citizens start catching the publicity from the mo campaign. It would greatly help with uniting the states and save money for the cities because of less stress on the highway infrastructure, and save money on gas particularly for ppl north of the river, in joco, and lees summit who don't have another option right now other their cars, although on the otherhand alot of those suburbs are so spread out that the system may not catch on quite as much, I do believe there are plans for parking terminals near commuter rail stops and bus terminals though for those who would still have to drive a mile or so to get to the system. It would basically take the highly successful MAX system and instate it repeatedly and elongatedly across kansas city along with some commuter rails. That would also allow the speedway to get the employment they need, because right now some of the places out there have jobs which pay minimum that no person who can afford to live out there would take, and for the unemployed closer to the urban core the gas cost would make taking such a job unfeasible. One needs to note that even if it were put into effect it wouldn't be completed for years, possibly as much as 20 years for some of the rail projects, and it would be an additional $.0025 tax on sales in the areas that agreed on it. I think it would be worth it.
